Thanks for stopping by! My name is Faraz Hemani, and I'm a student at the University of Texas at Austin. Sports are a unique form of entertainment, because every single moment is a story. Every catch, block, touchdown, dunk, win and loss is a story worth telling. That's because in that moment, each individual fan has a relationship to sports that no other experience can ever capture. Some fans express that relationship by jumping up off their couch in joy, while others might express it by chucking their remote at their TV screen. It truly is amazing how sports can capture people's interest in such an extreme manner, and that is why I've been passionate about sports for as long as I can remember. Every moments in sports is a story, and I'm here to tell some of the more controversial stories that I've seen in my years of being a fan.
Now, one of the keys to good story telling is being an accurate source. I don't claim to be an ESPN analyst who looks at stats and numbers all day, but I do read many prominent sports writer's work, and I include references to them in my posts. I have great respect for these decorated journalists, however, I'm not here to repeat the same, age-old story lines that Sports Center runs on their show 24/7. The reason I wanted to write this blog is for me to express my thoughts and opinions on sports stories that have garnered controversial attention. Some people jump up for joy when their team wins, others yell expletives at the TV, but me, I'd rather blog about my thoughts.
Controversies don't have one right or wrong answer, so I'd really love to hear your thoughts on the topics discussed in the comments section on the posts. Remember, sports are unique because every moment is a story, and every fan has a story to tell!
